Personal introduction:
In 2013 my father asked that I buy an industrial park on his behalf on an insolvency auction. We secured the 24 unit industrial park, but it was a loss-making business and we had to do a turn-around strategy on the park. I offered to my father to be the customer liaison and sales person for the park. I managed to secure new tenants and the turn-around was effected within six months. (In 2018 this property gave 28% ROI to the family due to the low price at which we secured the business.) I loved the brokering of deals and has some success as young, enthusiastic 20 year old.
An Director of a now Listed Property Fund, then approached me to obtain property for him in the Overberg area, and having tasted some success, I decided to start my own property company, Manie Uys Properties, as I loved the property industry.
My first sales was of a property in Kuilsriver and I worked under the leadership of Mr. Fredrick. My company’s turn-over rocketed from a mere R14M in the first year to R93M in the month of May 2017! I still wish to break the R100M barrier for one single calendar month!
The highlights of my sale career includes selling properties such as the Tyger Manor right next to Tygervallei Shopping Center, a development opportunity to Steinhoff on the Stellenbosch Arterial. I might need to reconsider mentioning that sale as Steinhoff has lost a great deal of credibility in the market, but this sale is still one of my personal highlights. I have also sold shopping centres such as Thembalethu Square in George as well as the Weltevrede Shopping center in Wellington
